  Poem #2 from Stone House

  I was introduced to you
  a long time ago.
  We never met
  rather,
I was told things about you.
  I was told
  about your way:
  what you stood for,
  on whose back.
  Your look was cruel beauty.
  Cruel.
I couldn’t imagine getting close to you.
  You hurt
  And pressed in deeper.
  I was impressionable then.
  Now,
  with you here,
  in close,
  I can feel something else.
